Recently I did one of my favorite things–ordering art materials.
You know that feeling when a new box of art supplies arrives? It’s like Christmas morning for artists! 🎨
This time, I decided to step outside my usual black-and-white palette and treat myself to a full array of color pan pastels. I couldn’t wait to dive in.
But when I opened the box… my heart sank. Two of the pastel pans had been smashed to pieces. 😩
If you’ve ever had that happen, you know how disappointing it feels. But don’t worry — it’s actually really easy to fix broken pan pastels, and they’ll work just as beautifully as new.
Here’s how:
-
Grab a small pipette (or dropper) and some 70% rubbing alcohol.
-
Add a few drops of alcohol to the broken pastel pieces.
-
Mix gently until it turns creamy.
-
Let it sit and dry completely.
It might not look perfectly pristine, but once you start creating, you’ll never notice the difference. Your colors will still blend beautifully into your photo encaustic artwork — rich, vibrant, and full of life.
Be well….be creative,
