Is a Photo Encaustic Course for You?

Is a Photo Encaustic Course for You?

Is The Artistic Image right for you?

My signature program, The Artistic Image is the most comprehensive course I teach—packed with step-by-step instruction, creative blueprints, and the full process I’ve honed over a decade of working with encaustic photography.

But here’s the truth…

This course isn’t for everyone.
And if you’re wondering, “Is this class right for me?”—you’re not alone. I get this question every time I launch a workshop or e-Course.

The answer isn’t always a simple yes or no, because every student arrives with different skills, goals, and learning styles. That’s why I design my courses with scaffolding—so you can hear, see, and absorb the material in multiple ways. Every lesson includes video, written notes, cheat sheets, and step-by-step demonstrations.

But before you join, it helps to know a few things about yourself—especially how you learn best and whether you can devote time to the process.

What You Need to Know Before Joining

The Artistic Image is open to students worldwide. Because of that, the class is not taught in real time—you can learn from anywhere, anytime.

However, this course is hands-on. Encaustic photography requires experimentation, patience, and practice with wax.
If you can’t commit at least 2–3 hours per week, you may want to wait until you can fully immerse yourself.

And just as importantly….Know your goals.

If you know what you want to learn, you’re far more likely to get exactly what you came for.

You’re an ideal fit if:

  • You understand Photoshop or photo editing basics but feel tired of sitting behind a screen

  • You want to make images that look different from everyone else’s

  • You’re craving a creative boost or a new artistic direction

  • You want to create one-of-a-kind artwork with emotion, depth, and texture

  • You dream of making hands-on work but aren’t sure how to start

And yes—you do NOT need a studio or an art degree. You only need curiosity, a willingness to experiment, and a desire to see your photography in a new way.

The biggest hesitation I hear is:

“I want a fresh vision for my photography, but I’m not an artist.”

Here’s the truth though……You don’t need to be an artist—you need to be willing to become one through experimentation.

What happens next is amazing:

  • Your work develops a unique perspective

  • Your images stand out

  • You create artwork that truly reflects who you are

What I’ll Teach You Inside the Course

Inside The Artistic Image, you’ll learn:

  • ✔ How to make photographs irresistible to viewers

  • ✔ Why you don’t need expert software skills to create stunning mixed-media art

  • ✔ Three encaustic photography methods and how to choose the right images

  • ✔ How to expand your artistic vision and break out of predictable photography

  • ✔ A step-by-step transformation: from “so-so” photograph to expressive artwork

You’ll also get video lessons, demonstrations, practice projects, inspiration, and personal guidance throughout the course.

The Artistic Image Has Transformed My Own Work

This process has been one of the greatest creative shifts in my life—and I want that for you too.

Creating stunning artwork is within your reach.

And with the right support, it’s within your grasp.

If You’re Ready to Push Your Creativity Further…

If you want to elevate your images, step into a new creative identity, and finally make work that sets you apart…

  1. Clare, your class is outstanding. It was the answer to a search for a way to do more with my prints than just print them. Now I have the tools to create art with my photographs that allows me to better share what drew me to capture the image in the first place. That was the point of departure. It has opened up new avenues of creative expression that aren’t necessarily closely tethered to the initial reality of the image. For thst I sm deeply grateful. I think there is something in your class for anyone who wants to combine images with wax. This article is one of the many excellent ways you invite your students into the process.

  2. I took your class a couple of years ago and would recommend it to anyone. All anyone really needs is the willingness to devote time to the on-line instruction and then go out and experiment.
