Is this class/workshop for me?
The Artistic Image started this morning. This is my signature class where I present tons and tons of information along with a blue-print to follow for creating one-of-a-kind pieces of art.
But I’ll be the first to admit The Artistic Image isn’t for everyone. And you very well might be wondering, is this course right for me?
Whenever I’m marketing a new class, I get plenty of emails asking me, do you think the course is a good fit for me?
Often times there isn’t a simple yes or no to the question as everyone is starting from a different base and learns differently. (The one thing that I learned early on when creating online courses is the need to ‘scaffold’ the information for just this reason. Students need to hear and see information in different forms so I provide the same information via video, transcribed notes, cheat sheets, and step-by-step instructions.) So, it’s a good idea to know yourself and know the way that you learn best.
You also need to know that you can devote the time to the lessons and the homework. The Artistic Image can be done from anywhere in the world. We don’t meet in real time because I have students from all over the globe who enroll. (In the class starting today there are already students from the US, Canada, UK, Norway, Netherlands, Swaziland, France, and Australia.)
In the classroom, I share with you all the wisdom that I have, but unless you are willing to experiment and do the lessons yourself, it won’t do much good. The reality is that you’ll get out of the course what you put in. You’ll receive material each week. Most of photo encaustic is getting the feel of the wax and experimentation. So, if you can’t commit to 2-3 hours per week, then this might not be the time to take an online class.
It’s also a good idea to know what you want to get from a class. If you know your goals you are so much more likely to be get exactly what you want by asking the right questions to fit your needs. So, make sure the course curriculum meets these goals.
Here’s How to Know if You Are Right for The Artistic Image e-Course.
- You are proficient at Photoshop and other photo editing software but you are tired of sitting behind your computer and want to be more hands-on with your photographs.
- You want to create imagery that is different—images that don’t have the same look and feel of everyone else’s images (I think we all want that one, right?)
- You’ve thought about adding a creative boost to your work—and you want to express yourself in a new and exciting way.
- Or quite simple, you have a desire to create stunning one-of-a-kind images.
Many assume that they need to know more about photography, color theory, or encaustic medium. You just need to get out of your own way and trust yourself.
One of the BIGGEST concerns I hear from students is:
“I’ve thought about creating a fresh vision for my photography—and would love to be more hands-on—but I’m not an artist and don’t have a studio.”
My answer is YES, it takes a bit of a paradigm shift (which is FAR less scary with someone holding your hand), but here’s what happens when you create work that is different.
- You gain a unique perspective and an inspirational boost to your work
- Your work stands out from the crowd
After testing and teaching this eCourse (and other in-person workshops), I can confidently say that one of the best ways to make images that are not considered run-of-the-mill is with photographs, beeswax, and pigments.
Here’s what I’ll show you:
- How to make irresistible photographs that people will be drawn to.
- That you DO NOT need to be an expert in photo software to make stunning images that stand out from the crowd.
- Three methods to incorporate photographs with beeswax and pigments and how to choose the right images for each method.
- How you can develop your skills and expand your vision to create powerful art beyond the run-of-the-mill images anyone can make.
- The step-by-step process of taking a so-so photograph and turning it into a painting full of gesture and spontaneity.
I’m here to provide you with tons of instruction, videos, practice projects, feedback and inspiration. Working with encaustics and photography is a process in letting go, playing, and experimenting.
This photo encaustic process is best thing that I’ve done for my artwork, and I haven’t looked back.
I want you to internalize it right now, that creating stunning artwork is within your reach, and with the right guidance, WITHIN YOUR GRASP.
So, if you are ready to make images that set you apart while sidestepping all the landmines and potholes that keep other artists frustrated and stuck, then check out the opportunity I’ve created for you.
A well-built online course is singlehandedly the QUICKEST way to reach your goals.
If this all sounds good to you then “YES”, The Artistic Image is for you.
Grab your spot NOW, and I’ll see you in class.

Be well….be creative,
Clare, your class is outstanding. It was the answer to a search for a way to do more with my prints than just print them. Now I have the tools to create art with my photographs that allows me to better share what drew me to capture the image in the first place. That was the point of departure. It has opened up new avenues of creative expression that aren’t necessarily closely tethered to the initial reality of the image. For thst I sm deeply grateful. I think there is something in your class for anyone who wants to combine images with wax. This article is one of the many excellent ways you invite your students into the process.
Thank you Nancy…..what a great testimonial. This post makes my heart sing:)
I took your class a couple of years ago and would recommend it to anyone. All anyone really needs is the willingness to devote time to the on-line instruction and then go out and experiment.
Thanks Jeannette. It’s been fun to watch your images metamorphosize with the wax:)
